ca 1696-1703 William was brought to this country in exchange for land. He then worked as an indentured servant for seven years doing leather work and tanning. (I was told that after the seven years, he married the daughter of the man whom he worked for. It makes a nice story, but I do not know if there is any truth to it.) - Danny Champion
