Notes for William OLIVE, Sr.:

Our Colonial Ancestors, JD O'Brien
Although I have not made a positive identification of the Olive family in Georgia, I think it likely there was some connection with the Wiley Olive who lived next to my ancestor, Abraham Youngblood, in Columbia County, Georgia. See 1820 census of that county. William Olive, Jr had a brother named Wiley who was killed at Vicksburg, in 1863.
Furthermore, there was an Olive family in Johnston County, North Carolina in the 1760s where the Youngbloods lived at the time. It is possible there are the ancestors of the Olive family of Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana

I looked at the two books of North Carolina colonial tax records and only find one Olive....
John Olive, 1767, but his location could be significant. It was in Brunswick County North Carolina also where the Galloways were. Happy hunting!

By the way, Augustus Olive might have been his father. I am still digging.

William Olive was born in 1812 and married Evelina Galloway in Mississippi March 21, 1837. They eventually settled in Bosque County, Texas. William named a son Wiley and had a granddaughter named Lucy, supposedly named after his sister. It is not clear if the William Oliver in Twiggs County in 1830 is this William, but if it is, there are several other people in the house that we have to find an explanation for. Several people have compiled information on this line but we can always use more information to help solidify the lineage.
