John Miles Youngblood was left a plantation by his step father John Miles. The name of the plantation was "Miles Improvement". On Oct 31, 1738 he sold it to Richard Dallam. He also owned a plantation call "Rosemary Ridge" that was granted to him by Lord Baltimore in 1730. He left the province of Maryland in the early 1740s and went to North Carolina, where he was granted land by the Erarl of Granville in what is now Johnston County He also received a grant of 200 acres of land on Keg Creek.

A family bible or other proving documentation is desperately needed of this family.

Family move to Johnson County, North Carolina by 1759, then to Richmond County, Georgia in 1771. John Sr served in the Revolutionary War from Richmond County, Georgia. Harford County was previously Baltimore County, St. George Parish.

The DNA test has shown that John Miles ~bd 1708 son of Thomas Youngblood of Maryland is NOT related to Thomas S Youngblood (of Amy Hopkins )( ~bd 1746 unknown) of the Edgefield district of South Carolina father of Jacob B et al ( of the Pike Co AL Group)....thus additionally John Miles YB is not related to Amos Caril bd 1784, Jeremiah YB 1765, Samuel Sr 1754 Edgefield of the Delois K YB line.

2. The DNA of the well proven John Miles YB descendent matches Benny YB who I have been try to link to for years, Ron YB of Ft Worth Texas and Wm L YB of Boulder, Colorado

3. I feel very comfortable we have sufficient data to prove relationship to the above lines for any one who wishes to take the DNA test. Mary is not listed as a daughter of Philip and Cassandra Coale in "The Coale Family -- Nine Generations" by Willis B. Coale. James Dewey O'Brien in his book "Our Colonial Ancestors" states that he believes Mary was their daughter. That line is shown in this record.
