This indenture made this 8th day of March 1827 between Joseph, Marcee and John Marcee both of the County of Harlan and commonwealth of Kentucky of the one part and John Turner of the county and commonwealth aforesaid of the other ______?________ that the said Joseph Marcee and John Marsee for in consideration of four hundred dollars in hand paid the ___________? where ofis here by acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said John Turner his heirs and assigns a part of a tract of land situate(?) and being in the County of Harlan onthe waters of Yellow Creek and bounded as follows to wit; Beginning at a forkea(?) cherry tree in a bottom from thence E 48 poles to a popular and beech tree on the south side of Bennetts Fork on Mathew Owens line thence with the same with the
difference meanden(?) of said fork south 26 east 40 poles, N30 E 20 poles N 3 E 18 poles N 55 E 12 poles. S 60 E 50 poles N 65 E 22 poles N 10 E 38 poles. S 30 E 16 pol 59 E 40 poles S 55 E 20 poles N 85 E 3poles N 22 E 8 poles. N 33 W 20 poles S 71 E 13 poles. S 38 E 18 poles N 72E 5 poles. To the mouth of the Stoney Fork thence with the meander(?) on the South side thence of 133 poles when seduced(?) to a straight line to a beech(?) at the mouth of the Muddy(?) Branch the general course which is North 50 West thence on the commitionial(?) line between said Marcee and Edward Gibsons(?) Sou 140 poles to a whiteoak and double beech from thence S 5 E 73 poles to the beginning and containing one hundred acres by measurement together with all and singular the appurtinance(?) thence unto belonging or inany wise appertaining to have and to hold the one half of the above named hundred acres of land here by conveyed with the _______? unto the said John Turner his heirs or assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever doth and will forever warrant and defend by these presents in witnefs where of the said Joseph Marcee and John Marcee have subscribed our nam the day and date above written witnefs our hands and seals.
