9/25/2000 Email from Carolyn Barnhill to John Anderson
"Hi John, I am so very surprised, I think my father, James, had lost track off all the Youngbloods, he was very little when his mom died. Although his grandmother Ada Youngblood (Ma) had raised all the kids. I sent him a copy of the family tree you have sent to me, I am sure he will be very happy to have it. He also was raised in Marthaville and graduated from Marthaville High School. My parents met during the war, my father's friend overseas was writing to his girlfriend and asked my father if he would like to write to her friend, Rita. He did and after the war he came off the ship in New York City and they met. I guess it was love at first sight they have been married
for almost 55 yrs now. They live in Florida with my two sisters, I live in New Jersey where they lived for many years before going to florida. I however was born in Baton Rouge,Louisiana At the Our Lady Of The Lake Hospital. They lived in a transformed barracks in Baton Rouge, (Ma) was there after I was born and took care of me since my mother had complications after delivery. I haven't been to Louisiana since I was 11yrs old. My Aunt Mildred still lives in Nachitchoes ( I'm not sure if it is spelled right) My Uncle Robert lives in Lake Charles, My Uncle Dudley who I have never met lives in California. I will give you more info tomorrow, I just what to make sure I have dates right. Can you tell me what nationality is Youngblood? I just found out the Barnhill originated from Ireland. By the way my cousin Terry Barnhill wrote a book on the Barnhill's From what I understand she is also very involved in the family history. It is so nice to know someone from my grandmother's side of the family. Thank you so much for writing me back. I will be in touch soon. Love Carolyn
